Auctioneer’s Note: Mr. Sopp was 92 when he passed. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in WWII and the Korean conflict and received 2 Purple Hearts and many decorations for combat injuries serving his country. He had been the Paymaster of his Southside Marine Corp league 183 and served on an Honor Guard Team for burials at Jefferson Barracks. Big trains were his hobby, being a member of the 1522 Steam Train Association and participated in rebuilding and operations of the Frisco 1522 Steam Train located at the Transportation Museum. He was a 60+ year member of the Craftsman Masonic Lodge #717 AF & AM, Bonhomme Lodge #45 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Masons and Ascalon Commandery #16 Knights Templar and 60+ year Shriner, the list goes on.
