Auctioneer’s Note: The Buschschorn’s farm has been in Melvin’s family for over 150 years. Melvin H. Buschschorn was the 4th generation of Buschschorns to farm their land in Warren County. Like his father, Henry Buschschorn, Melvin was born on the homestead farm and lived his entire life there. After his death in January of 2018, Sally, his wife of 44 years, has decided it is time to offer, at auction, the many acquisitions of the farm equipment and household. Melvin was first and foremost a farmer, though he was also an avid hunter and environmentalist. His love for the land and nature was the center of his life. He dreaded urban sprawl, but was a reluctant realist in that respect. Both he and Sally had interests regarding their community and agriculture. Melvin owned and operated Melvin’s Water Hauling Service in the 1980s and 90s, while Sally was a teacher at both Holy Rosary School in Warrenton and later taught English and Literature in Wright City R-II High School in the late 1970s. She also owned Sally Buschschorn Photography for 13 years. After retiring, both Melvin & Sally developed an avid interest in antiques and collectibles, many of which will be offered for sale at the auction. See you at the sale. David, Dusty & Bill
